Amy from Holos therapies, trauma informed counsellor working with burnout, vicarious trauma and healing for women and EAP workers

About Amy

Amy is an ACA-registered Counsellor with a Master of Counselling and specialist training in Narrative Therapy. She brings a grounded, compassionate presence to her work, supporting clients with curiosity, safety, and care.

Deeply inspired by the power of story and the human capacity for connection, Amy believes in the healing that happens when people are truly seen and heard. Her practice is rooted in the idea that transformation begins at the edges — in the moments when we are safe enough to explore what feels uncertain, tender, or unknown.

Amy has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing burnout, trauma, and vicarious trauma — especially those working in remote, high-demand, or caring professions. Her work in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) reflects a deep understanding of the emotional toll that isolation, responsibility, and service can take. She also works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and attachment challenges — always with an emphasis on nervous system regulation and building secure, nourishing relationships with self and others.

As a new mother and long-time advocate for women’s healing, Amy brings lived experience and deep professional insight to her work with clients navigating motherhood, identity, and relationship repair. She holds a specialist role in Domestic and Family Violence Counselling and integrates a feminist, trauma-informed lens across all areas of her practice.

With nearly a decade of experience in the helping professions, including time spent in remote Aboriginal communities, Amy combines evidence-based modalities like CBT and Narrative Therapy with somatic tools such as mindfulness, meditation, and breath-based practices. She is a qualified yoga and sound healing practitioner, currently completing her Master of Social Work, and teaches weekly therapeutic yoga classes in Darwin. Her approach is holistic, intuitive, and always tailored to meet the individual needs of the people she supports — blending body, mind, and meaning in the healing process.
